In this assignment, we were asked to take pictures of the following compositions: pattern, symmetry, texture, depth of field, and lines. We also were asked to take pictures using some more compositions such as: framing, perspective, balance, color and space.
While doing this assignment I learned lots of things. A few of the things I learned are how to focus on an object, edit the picture to bring it to life more, and what all those terms of composition even mean and how to create a piece of art with them. I also learned how much really goes into taking good pictures. I have had so much fun and this is only the beginning...
~ In order of appearance ~
Balance - This is a picture of Jenna and Emilee. Absolutely gorgeous.
Pattern - The bricks outside of the school. It was raining that day, so this picture seems to show the sadness.
Color - I threw my scarf on the tree outside the school and since it was rainy and gloomy, it was a nice bright color to have throw in the picture.
Space - This is also my scarf just on the sidewalk. (No editing was even needed.)
Depth of Field - The color of the bare bush was so beautiful, I just had to get closer.
Symmetry - The sidewalk was pretty boring and how it seems to go on forever adds to the "boringness" (is that a word?) of it.
Texture - I love all the things in this picture. You have snow, damp, bright leaves, and lush, green grass just lying on the ground and I thought "What a neat picture this would be!"
Rule of Thirds - Just my shadow on the wall, taking a picture of myself.
Lines - These are the lights on the ceiling. I think this looks creepy, like a hospital or an asylum.
Perspective- This is also my scarf but from a different angle. I hope this doesn't make you as dizzy as it makes me.
Framing - I took a branch and broke it into 4 pieces and took some nice-colored leaves and just put them on the sidewalk and set it up how it looked best. It was also raining at this time and I wanted to capture a little bit of the gloom.
~ Enjoy! ~
